NAIROBI, Kenya — Interior and National Administration Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has chaired a high-level security review meeting at Harambee House as the government continues efforts to advance police reforms and implement recommendations arising from the Jukwaa la Usalama initiative.
The meeting brought together senior security officials to assess ongoing reforms and address emerging security and service delivery challenges.
The Jukwaa la Usalama initiative, which promotes public participation in security management, has informed discussions on police accountability, officer welfare, community policing and institutional modernisation.
Murkomen has previously outlined reforms targeting the National Police Service, including digitalisation, improvements in officer welfare, enhanced equipment and stronger community engagement.
In a Senate statement, the CS said recommendations from the Jukwaa la Usalama forums had informed operational and policy changes within the security sector.
The latest review underscores the government’s focus on translating security reform commitments into implementation while strengthening coordination among security agencies.
