Siaya Governor Aspirant David Ochieng to Meet Ugenya Teachers on Saturday

Ugenya, Sept. 4

Siaya County gubernatorial aspirant David Ouma Ochieng, who currently serves as Ugenya Member of Parliament, will on Saturday, September 5, 2026, hold a series of meetings with teachers across Ugenya Sub-County, in what appears to be part of his early outreach to key voter blocs ahead of the governorship race.

According to a notice circulated to school and staff WhatsApp groups on Thursday evening, the meetings will be held in two sessions at different venues within the sub-county.

In Sihay Division, teachers from East Ugenya and North Ugenya wards will meet the aspirant at Nyangungu Primary and Junior School from 7:00 a.m.

In Ukwala Division, teachers from West Ugenya and Ukwala wards will convene at Mathiwa Primary and Junior School from 9:30 a.m.

The notice urged sub-county teacher officials to inform all teachers under their jurisdiction, calling on them to turn out for the sessions.

The engagements come as political activity intensifies across Siaya County ahead of the next electoral cycle, with aspirants stepping up grassroots consultations with professional groups, teachers among them.
