Kenya’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led by Principal Secretary Dr. Korir Sing’oei, on Thursday held talks with H.E. Hatem Yousri Hosni, ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Kenya, in a review of the longstanding bilateral relationship between Nairobi and Cairo.
Officials noted that the Kenya-Egypt partnership has continued to deepen over the years, now spanning a broad range of sectors including trade, investment, water resources, defence and construction, among others. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the trajectory of cooperation and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening it further.
The discussions also touched on upcoming continental engagements, with Kenya confirming its anticipation of participating at a high level in the forthcoming 8th African Union Mid-Year Coordination Summit, set to take place in Alamein, Egypt. Kenya is also expected to take part in the Aswan Forum, a platform dedicated to peace and development in Africa.
The meeting underscored the two countries’ shared interest in advancing regional cooperation and deepening ties that officials described as having grown steadily across multiple fronts over the years.
