Nairobi, September 14 — The Energy and Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has kept fuel prices unchanged for the current pricing cycle, with the new rates holding until October 14.
“The maximum retail prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene remain unchanged,” the regulator said in its monthly update.
Nationally, Super Petrol retails at Ksh214.03 per litre, Diesel at Ksh217.86, and Kerosene at Ksh191.38. Regional prices vary: motorists in Mombasa pay Ksh210.87 for petrol, Ksh214.58 for diesel and Ksh188.09 for kerosene, while Nakuru holds at Ksh212.92, Ksh217.27 and Ksh190.81 respectively. Elsewhere, Eldoret and Kisumu are at Ksh213.69, Meru at Ksh218.67, Kitale at Ksh213.94, Kisii at Ksh214.77 and Kilifi at Ksh211.68. Mandera has the highest pump prices in the country at Ksh234.68.
EPRA noted that the prices include Value Added Tax as per applicable regulations. The landed cost of petrol eased to approximately Ksh113.39 per litre, while diesel rose to Ksh124.17 and kerosene climbed to Ksh130.22. International benchmark prices stood at roughly Ksh144,672 per metric tonne for petrol, Ksh143,197 for diesel and Ksh146,743 for kerosene as of August.
The Kenyan shilling remained steady at about Ksh129.72 to the US dollar in August, helping cushion local prices against fluctuations in global oil costs. The freeze marks the third straight month of unchanged Super Petrol prices, following a marginal Ksh0.22 decline recorded in June 2026.
